3M 2044, 2000 grit sandpaper is a premium, aluminum oxide mineral sandpaper with an improved paper backing, and an optimized construction. The performance advantages are improved rate of cut, increased abrasive life, increased flexibility, a uniform and consistent finish.

Salesman Notes: The 3M 2044, 2000 grit sandpaper is excellent for wet sanding out orange peel, dirt nibs, and other minor imperfections in clear-coat and single stage finishes. Wet sandpaper needs to be soaked in water for about 15 minutes prior to use. This helps soften the factory cut edges of the sandpaper and will reduce the chance of cutting grooves in your fresh paint finish. I recommend the use of a foam sanding block such as the following list:

M-G SB-1 - has 2 sides, one is more dense for more aggressive cutting and the other is softer for color sanding.
